A day in your life as a Assistant Branch Manager...
Under the direction of the Regional Manager/Banking Center Manager, assists with the execution of the Guam Retail business plan to meet financial goals through sales activity and client relationship management while providing leadership and guidance to supervisors and staff.  This position assists in leveraging the strengths of various business units at Bank of Hawaii to integrate and coordinate initiatives to improve the Bank’s visibility and presence in serving the financial needs of the community.  Ensures  business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  In addition, this position is responsible for serving as an Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) champion for the unit.  This includes planning, executing, monitoring and measuring the sales process.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…
Assists with the execution of the banking center’s business plan through effective staff communication and team motivation to meet sales, service and compliance objectives.  Builds alliances and partnerships with business units in the branch to meet company goals and objectives.  Responsible for client calling and building relationships with existing clients and soliciting new business prospects.  Maintains existing relations and business, pursues new quality sales opportunities through personal prospecting, and develops quality business for the Bank of Hawaii.  Develops/maintains quality client relations which may include servicing high valued clients including both consumer and business accounts.

 

Assists with managing the sales and delivery of BOH products and services within an assigned market to include coordination and call planning with other business unit partners.  Assists with coordinating and executing client relationship strategies to include prospecting and retention of the branch’s high value clients (Top 25 – 50 consumer and business customers).  Promotes effective client migration to alternative delivery channels including but not limited to ATM’s, Call Center and e-bankoh.    Assists with sales and service of branches in geographic area.

 

Represents the Bank of Hawaii by actively participating in the community, bank sponsored events, including but not limited to financial seminars and customer or non-profit organization presentations.  Actively builds referral network in the market through representation in business and community organizations.

 

Assist in managing staff members in the center including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, training and development, succession planning and affirmative action.  Goal is to attract, retain and motivate the team to achieve management business objectives and maintain a favorable employee relations climate.  Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff.

Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator and telephone).  Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.  Provides own ground transportation or operates a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.  Travels by air as required.   Must be able to lift/carry 10 pounds.
 


Qualifications

4 year College degree majoring in business or related area from an accredited educational institution, or equivalent business experience. 

 

Minimum 3-5 years experience demonstrated marketing, sales and sales management, and service skills to meet Bank of Hawaii’s business objectives to include minimum

 

2-3 years demonstrated managerial and/or supervisory experience.

 

4 years of bank employment in related positions of progressive responsibility. 

 

Demonstrated competencies in the areas of planning, leading, training and development, coaching and team building. 

 

Competencies in relationship management, counseling, conflict and performance management, salary management and performance management preferred. 

 

Demonstrates analytical and problem solving skills
 
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) or similar software.
  
Great listener with strong written and verbal communication skills to include presentation skills, people skills, customer service skills, negotiation skills, and problem solving skills..   Ability to multi-task, organize and time manage in a dynamic environment.  Strong skills in developing and implementing process improvements.  Sound judgment and proven risk management decision-making.  Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.  Provides own ground transportation or operates a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.  Travels by air as required.   Must be able to lift/carry 10 pounds.
