Description

Under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor, this position coordinates & oversees operations and provides support for all positions within the department and in the absence of the Manager or Supervisor.  The individual in this position delivers reliable, professional, quality service and correspondence to customers and teammates.  Reviews and implements new and updated procedures to correct departmental efficiencies.  If applicable or appropriate, ensures business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordination of one or more of the department’s daily operations to ensure established goals and objectives are met.
  • Works closely with the manager to obtain maximum department productivity and effectiveness.
  • Maintains quality control of workflow throughout the department to ensure accuracy and acceptable performance levels. 
  • Identifies and corrects erroneous or incomplete information and records to ensure quality and compliance. 
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of the functions within the department. 
  • Reviews and implements changes to improve efficiency of departmental operations to accommodate departmental goals. 
  • Identifies problems, analyzes situations and exercises authority. 
  • Manages settlement of all routine/non-routine and internal/external requests. 
  • Understands and stays abreast of regulatory changes. 
  • Assists the Manager and Supervisor in keeping the staff informed of changes as well as product and system requirements.
  • Assists with supervision of employees. 
  • Assists with scheduling, training, and development. 
  • Motivates and retains the team to achieve the department’s business objectives while maintaining favorable employee relations. 
  • Assists the manager in establishing goals for the unit as well as individual staff goals. 
  • Trains and develops staff and provides them with the resources and tools needed to achieve successful performance. 
  • Exercises signing authority as required within the unit. 
  • Exercises exceptions authority up to the limits conferred by management.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with peers, branches, department personnel, in teams and with customers. 
  • Reviews, inputs, maintains and resolves customer/branch inquiries and requests.
  • Assists with performing preliminary and final functional/performance testing for new or upgraded systems/applications. 
  • Assists with test scripts, functional decompositions, and other documentation that supports new or upgraded systems/applications. 
  • Assists with implementing changes or new functions within the department.

 

 


Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of bank operations and banking experience. 
  • Supervisory experience helpful. 

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Possesses knowledge of PC/computer software including:   Microsoft Power Point, Word, Access, and Excel. 
  • System application knowledge helpful.   

 

OTHER JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possesses verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to analyze a situation to determine a solution. 
  • Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and evenings on a regular basis. 
  • Occasional lifting of boxes weighing 25-30 pounds.
