A day in your life as a Deposits Product Manager & Analyst:

Under the direction of the Pricing and Analytics Manager, this position is responsible for supporting all aspects of deposit products and related products and services including ensuring that short and long-term plans are successfully fulfilled. Key emphasis of this role will be directed towards supporting analytics and pricing of Consumer and Business deposit products and services.   In addition, this position will assist with the definition and implementation of short and long-term strategies for deposit products, including but not limited to pricing, sales, marketing, compliance, technology integration, and customer service. The role will engage with various partners in the execution of product reporting, financial forecasting, project management, operational enhancement, product launches and modifications, product positioning, compliance and risk monitoring functions. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. This position is also responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors. 

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Engage in quantitative analyses and assist in developing and maintaining forecasting models that support balance forecast, pricing management and fee income reviews.  Actively participate in Deposit Interest Rate Committee that sets interest rates for all deposit products including producing meeting document and post meeting minutes.
  • Drive financial analyses, portfolio modeling, opportunity assessments and other product analysis to identify risk/reward opportunities in support of deposit portfolio growth.  Maintain reporting that tracks portfolio trends including analytical deep dives to further understand portfolio metrics and establish performance dashboards.
  • Evaluate product features, pricing, rates and terms of existing products and services, and implements changes as appropriate. Maintain awareness of products and marketing techniques of competitors.   Collaborate with key partners in deploying new products and strategies that drive product adoption, as well as conduct competitor reviews.
  • Assist with managing compliance requirements for the deposit products business, including compliance monitoring, as well as operational, financial, model risk and vendor management requirements. Researches issues and problems, develops and recommends solutions. Maintains market and industry intelligence on current and future trends and best practices. Drafts and/or reviews written materials including deposit-related circulars, SPMs, marketing collateral, statement messages and inserts, customer notification, disclosures, forms, and collateral.

 

 


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major in business, finance or marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in increasingly responsible positions in banking or financial services industry (with exposure to deposit products), product management, analytics and/or product marketing or equivalent work experience. 
  • Process/project management experience and working knowledge of relevant banking compliance regulations required.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) or similar software. 
  • Requires intermediate/advanced work sheet skills (pivot tables, charts/graphs, complex formulas with nested expressions, lookups combined with other functions, experience managing large data files, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems. 

 

Other Job Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical bent and business acumen with the ability to comprehend pricing and balance sheet performance and aid in analytics to recommend the optimal product and pricing strategy to meet Line of Business objectives.
  • Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts, business strategies and project plans clearly and concisely.
  • Able to work effectively with management and staff across multiple divisions.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently, think critically, prioritize work and effectively manage multiple products and projects in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned. 
  • Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and ability commute as required.
  • Must be able to travel by air.
