A day in the life as External Channels Manager

Responsible for the administration of Information Technology business applications and systems.  Also, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.

We’ll give you these important responsibilities...Leads a group of professionals who assist business units in operational administration, planning, budgeting, forecasting, organizing, and executing business application management activities.  Provides divisional/cost center budget submission, management, and accountability.  

Develops, implements, and maintains portfolio of business applications and business application service levels (SLA’s) with relevant technology application Business Owner(s). Supports the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, and/or decommissioning options, incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.  Establishes and supports operational metrics with external providers to evaluate service levels. 

 

Leads discussions of pertinent business applications for functional and technical fit at appropriate intervals with Technology Application (Business) Owner(s). 

 

Assures project and service requests are within agreed cost, schedule, and scope, demonstrating and communicating effective and appropriate prioritization. 

 

Establishes and maintains effective vendor relationships to achieve timely incident resolution, problem management, and project outcomes, including appropriate escalations.  

Provides leadership of staff, including resource optimization, supply and demand planning, performance management, team building, staff engagement, upskilling, and downsizing. 

Contributes in leadership discussions to the definition and refinement of I.T. strategies and roadmaps and supports development and maintenance of departmental roadmaps.  Conducts reviews of solution architectures.

Maintains compliance with relevant policies and regulations.  Coordinates with external and internal regulators and alignment of processes/procedures to achieve risk, audit, and incident management targets. Reports and/or escalates any incidents or events in violation of compliance or which could adversely impact company’s integrity, operations, or reputation.

Provides timely response to external and internal audit requests for assistance.

Maintains awareness of cost impact of actions.

Collaborates effectively with supporting departments and teams. Contributes positively to team, department, and organizational morale and environment.

Demonstrates customer service focus by not only providing good service and considering the effect of all actions on internal and external customer service, but always looking for ways to improve service.

Performs miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.

This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator and telephone).

 

 

 


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent education or work experience.

 

Minimum of 6 years of experience.

 

Requires experience related to and responsibility for IT management, including Infrastructure and/or application management team responsibility for oversight, management and communication of complex technical programs. 

Banking/financial industry or related field preferred.

Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience managing teams of application administrators and/or minimum of 1 – 2 years of effective project management experience. 

Experience with ATM, Call Center, Credit Cards, Deposits, On-line Banking, Digital Channels, Channels Management, and Branch/Community Banking.

Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint) or similar software.  Possess analytical skills, knowledgeable of systems architecture, awareness of new approaches and techniques in the data processing industry. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.

Excellent oral and written communication, analytical and problem solving skills.  Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability.   Effective conflict management, negotiating and problem solving skills. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills. Able to be flexible in a fast paced dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities.  Must be technically creative and open-minded.  Should have a high attention to detail with regard to accounting skills, be able to work without direct supervision and have an above average understanding of information technology topics.  Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.  Must be able to provide own transportation or operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and commute as necessary.
