KOA Driver

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Coordinates all production and equipment requirements for specific flight. Ensures that all items needed are properly packed and meal counts and bank counts are correct prior to KDT. Maintains liaison with flight crew during loading and contact with kitchen dispatch to cover shortages or changes by customer. Ensures voucher, invoice, or boarding bill sign off by flight crew upon completion of catering.

 

Duties:

 

  • With a partner, carry out safe parking techniques alongside aircraft, acting as either driver or usher according to designated protocol

  • Safely operate high-lift trailer alongside aircraft and appropriately place gateway ramp and safety rails for conveyance of trolleys onto aircraft

  • Load truck according to load sheet and unload contents onto aircraft

  • Remove empty trolleys and waste materials from aircraft and load into trailer

  • Verify the quantities delivered in accordance with load sheets and obtain receiving signature

  • Follow established rules of each unit for entry to building and work areas, properly attired and In compliance with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by unit management
  • Comply with all HACCP and Flying Food Group sanitation and proper food handling policies and procedures
  • Ensures that each specific flight catered is to customer specifications prior to KDT and corrects any shortages of equipment or consumables
  • Ensures that trolleys are inspected by security and sealed prior to KDT
  • Monitors temperature of food to ensure compliance with HACCP and airline requirements
  • Maintain customer contact during catering operation and be responsive to all inquiries or requests of flight crew
  • Ensures that flight crew signs off on boarding bill, invoice, or voucher up completion of catering operation
  • Remove all items from off loaded trolleys and dispose of garbage, containers and paper goods in designated containers for disposal
  • Load dishwashing machine with soiled chinaware, trays, glasses, silverware in appropriate carriers
  • Ensure that dishwashing machine is operating at proper temperature and has detergent and necessary chemicals for proper operation.
  • Unload machine and place cleaned items in appropriate racks or storage containers in proper storage areas
  • Sanitize all trolleys, carriers oven racks and drawers and deliver to proper area for storage
  • Properly return for storage, unused supplies to proper storage facility for future use with adherence to dating and rotation schedule
  • Perform other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors

Requirements

Job Specific Requirements:

 

  • Must hold a valid current Driver's license

  • Must have a driving record with Good Standing and must present a current driving abstract

  • CDL desired but not required

 

Physical Demands:

 

  • Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise

  • Majority of duties performed outside in all weather conditions

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, move product, equipment and supplies up to seventy-five (75) pounds, must be able to work at heights up to 20-25 feet

  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours

  • Will be required to travel up to 10% of the time
