A day in your life as a Loan Documentation Specialist - Direct Lending:

Under the direction of the Loan Documentation Supervisor, this position is responsible for reviewing loan requests, preparing required documents, books and disburses all loans/lines. In addition, this position is responsible for serving as the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) champion for the unit, ensures business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, and regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. 


We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Prepares files for Documentation and documents assigned loan requests.  Process may involve:  Preparation of loan documents, such as notes, security agreements, collateral agreements, etc.  Reviewing executed documents and ensuring all required documents are completed completely, reviewing to ensure certain compliance requirements are met including, Regulation Z, Customer Identification Program (CIP), customer due diligence (CDD), The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), etc. Prepares booking sheet and may assist with booking accounts to the host loan system.
  • Disburses all loan requests.  Process may involve transfer of funds electronically, or preparation of cashier’s checks, etc.  Ensures that funds are disbursed for the correct amount and posted to the correct account.
  • Consolidates, reviews and reconciles requests for information from branches and departments to include mortgage recordings and final reports to title companies and Bureau of Conveyances.
  • Assists and supports the Documentation Team in achieving the goals and objectives of the Documentation area.

  • 2 years college or equivalent work experience in the banking industry.



  • 1-2 years of work experience in the banking industry with preferably some general loans knowledge. 


Technical Skills: 

  • Working knowledge/understanding of the following computer programs and systems:  IBS Insight, Origenate, Laser Pro, Microsoft Suite of Office Products, including Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, and Excel. 
  • Ability to comprehend basics and importance of documentation and tracking. 
  • Operates basic office equipment:  computer, 10-key calculator, facsimile, copier and typewriter.


Other Job Qualifications: 

  • Possess Analytical skills. 
  • Ability to read and follow detailed instructions. 
  • Detail oriented, self starter and the ability to learn quickly. 
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
