Mortgage Banking Analyst-1600237
Under the direction of the Department Manager, this position is responsible for the technical and analytical support of various mortgage processes and resolving operational issues. This position also assists in generating various operating and performance measurement reports used by department and section managers in the administration of their respective areas. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS discipline and behaviors.
- Performs analysis on business processes to assist management in strategic business decisions. Reviews and analyzes system and operating data to identify operational issues. Prepares and creates mortgage reports for department management. Works with the department and section managers to identify reporting needs. Provides information on an ad hoc basis as necessary. Prepares mortgage metrics including key performance indicators and portfolio analytics. Reconciles report information to the source applications or data to ensure completeness and accuracy. Works closely with other mortgage sections to ensure adequate information exists.
- Works on project teams to identify, assess, and resolve operational issues and streamline and/or automate departmental processes. Represents Department on cross-functional divisional teams.
- Plans and conducts small to medium projects. Prepares detailed project plans & schedules, business requirements, tests plans, and test scripts using software tools & templates. May oversee temporary staff to assist with completion of project tasks.
- Reviews section and department procedures and Sarbanes Oxley controls. Recommends and assists with implementation of procedural changes. Trains staff on revised processes and procedures.
Education: 4 year college degree in business or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 2 years experience in accounting, financial services, or management information systems.
Technical Skills: Solid analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office Professional Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access, Accounting, Relational Databases, and written communications.
Other Job Qualifications: Strong verbal and writing communication skills. Must be detail oriented and analytical.
