A day in your life as a Point of Sale Services Specialist:

Under the direction of the Manager, the POS Services Specialist is responsible for performing daily Electronic Draft Capture (EDC) equipment installations and training, new merchant setups and training, and making on-site service calls to resolve EDC equipment problems and breakdowns. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.  In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Prepares/tests/installs EDC equipment and trains merchants in usage and operation. Also trains merchants in the Operating Procedures relating to accepting and processing Visa, MasterCard, and Discover suite of cards.  Maintains industry knowledge as it relates to Card Association’s compliance, interchange, pricing and products. 
  • Provides daily on-site service and maintenance of EDC equipment for merchants reporting problems or breakdowns.  Upgrades equipment on site with new enhancements.  Retrieves equipment at closed merchant locations.  Delivers emergency equipment/supplies.
  • Prepares necessary paperwork for terminal setup and billing if applicable. Reviews new account and additional site applications.  Possesses a working knowledge of the credit policy. 
  • Provides daily telephone support answering inquiries and providing support to customers and branches with problems, complaints and supplying product information.  Possesses a working knowledge of the processes and procedures of the various Electronic Data Capture networks and First Data Merchant Services (FDMS) processing platform.
  • Cross-sells draft capture service and terminal application/hardware enhancements to the existing merchant portfolio.

 

 


Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years related work experience, banking or financial industry preferred.

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency and advanced expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint SharePoint) or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems including electronic draft capture terminal and printer, etc.

 

Other: 

  • Good working knowledge of banking industry and products, as well as banking compliance as it pertains to credit card business and ability to increase knowledge in relatively short time. 
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be analytical, detail oriented, organized. 
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
  • Effective and efficient team player with excellent interpersonal skills, who can also resolve problems independently. 
  • Must be customer service oriented and exhibit a positive mental attitude. 
  • Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and able to commute to appointments. 
  • Able to travel by air. 
  • Must be able to push/lift 30 pounds.
