A day in your life as a Product Manager:

Under the direction of the Manager of Cash Management Services, the Cash Management Product Manager I is responsible for assisting in the planning, development and delivery of strategies and tactics to support product development and sales for the lines of business supported by the Cash Management Department. The position is responsible for assisting in and/or actively managing a line of cash management products and services. Specific products supported include all of the products offered through the Cash Management Department. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS discipline and behaviors.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Assists and/or manages product portfolio. Assists and/or works in conjunction with senior Product Managers in the development or enhancement of products and services. Tasks include competitive analysis, product design, coordination with systems, pricing structure and education of the distribution channels for the product. Assists with development of marketing materials and promotions.  Responsible for obtaining all necessary legal and compliance approvals for materials and promotions. Coordinates vendor management for third party products and outsource vendors. Negotiates contracts, establishes performance standards, and is accountable for ongoing contract administration and expense control. May include periodic out of state travel.
  • Provides product specific, consultative and technical support to the department sales and service staff and bank clients. Assists clients in resolving product specific technical problems working with vendors and the bank technical support areas.
  • Maintains detailed working knowledge of all products and related systems, performing routine and some non-routine tasks related to successful product management for the Cash Management Department. Tasks include tracking, measuring, monitoring and reporting product usage, as well as ongoing product testing.
  • Responsible for completion of annual National Automated Clearinghouse Association (NACHA) Self-Audit.
  • Provides training to department and other bank staff involved in the sales and support of Cash Management Products and Services. Creates and maintains product training materials and setup documents for the sales and support teams.  Drafts policies and procedures and oversees the maintenance of up-to-date material from all sources. Develops and manages collateral material and sales aids. Accompanies sales team on sales calls and presentations as appropriate.
  • Provides system support and assists senior Product Managers with system upgrades and conversions. Assists with testing and validation of system changes.

 

 


Qualifications

Education:

  • College degree, major in a related subject, equivalent experience.
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation preferred.
  • Must work to obtain CTP and/or AAP designation within one year of job assignment.

 

Experience:

  • Two to three years of banking related experience. 
  • One to three years of product management or Cash Management experience or equivalent commercial banking experience.
  • ACH experience desired. Accounting, Finance and/or Marketing experience preferred.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of internet based applications and PC/ Computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Project.

 

Other Job Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to clearly communicate concepts, business strategies and project plans.
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and within teams.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks with sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license, and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required.
  • Requires occasional inter-island travel and may include periodic out-of-state travel.
