A day in your life as a Trust Services Group Compliance Analyst
Under the direction of the Manager, this position assists in the review and execution of compliance regulations and operational processes, research and recommendations for streamlining and/or improving current procedures, and creating new procedures.  Produces and reviews various reports and oversees the generation of data used for reporting.  Provides support and guidance to the Personal Trust and Investment Services business units.  Serves as a liaison between Trust Services Group (TSG) and Fiduciary Investment Compliance and Risk Management (FICRM).  Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and USA PATRIOT Act.

 

We’ll give you these important responsibilities…

  • Assists in the planning, development, implementation and improvement of programs designed to identify and manage compliance risks while adhering to Bank policies and procedures.  Performs compliance reviews and monitors controls in place for regulatory compliance.   Prepares work papers that document monitoring activities and results of the quarterly compliance risk matrices.  Provides guidance and recommendations to management regarding potential risks, issues, inefficient or ineffective processes, and/or internal control weaknesses.  Generates, processes and reviews regulatory, system, management, and business unit report requests, as needed.  Keeps abreast of regulatory and internal policy and procedural changes, industry trends and best practices,
  • Assists in the creation, update, and maintenance of Personal Trust and Investment Services related policies and procedures.  Reviews, identifies, and researches policies and procedures for potential streamlining and efficiencies.  Reviews, updates, and reaffirms policies and procedures according to the deadlines stated in the published reviewing schedule.
  • Provides guidance and serves as a valuable resource for Personal Trust and Investment Services business unit team members.
  • Represents business unit compliance as an active participant in meetings, projects and/or task forces, as needed.
  • Serves as the Regulatory University (RegU) administrator for Personal Trust, Investment Services, and other assigned business units.  Responsible for assigning required courses and ensuring completion by the deadlines.
  • Assists the Recovery Team Leaders in updating and maintaining the Personal Trust and Investment Services Business Recovery Plan (BRP). Ensuring the Corporate Business Continuity (CBC) database and Automated Emergency Notification System (AENS) are updated and kept current. Facilitates disaster/business recovery exercise, when needed.
  • Develops and maintains a strong collaborative and contributive working relationship with TSG business units and other departments in the Bank.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties, as assigned.



Qualifications

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with responsibility for banking/trust/audit/regulatory compliance and/or chiefly fiduciary-related responsibilities or equivalent work experience. 
  • Process improvement experience preferred.

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio), CRM or similar software. 
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn Bank and trust software.

  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills to leadership to assist in meeting regulatory compliance standards. 
  • Able to explain complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • Must possess and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, think critically and strategically, prioritize and re-prioritize work, and effectively manage time in a fast paced, multi-project environment while maintaining a high-level of detail. 
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills while keeping an open mind. 
  • Should be an effective team player who promotes team work and collaboration while projecting a positive and professional image. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
