  • Check with customers to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Collect payments from customers
  • Prepare itemized check that total meal costs and sales taxes
  • Check customers’ identification to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Serve food and/or beverages to customers
  • Show the menu to customers and answer any questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
  • Clean tables after customers have finished dining
  • Prepare hot, cold and mixed drinks for customers
  • Setup stations and dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, take-out containers, etc.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
  • Remove dirty dishes and glassware from tables and take them into the kitchen for cleaning
  • Greet and seat guest as they come in and thank them as they leave
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and moping the floors, tidying up server station, and taking out trash
  • Prep side dishes ahead of meal service
  • Wash dishes, pots and pans
  • Refill condiment containers
  • Keep the kitchen and dining room in order to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Prepare to go orders for customers
  • Make sandwiches
  • Keeping the kitchen servicing area clean and stocked 


Must be able to lift 50 lbs
